Privacy Policy
Last updated October 10, 2026
Soul Anchor is a private place to explore faiths, beliefs, sacred texts and philosophies. It is operated by Quintari LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what Soul Anchor collects, why, who processes it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Soul Anchor app for iPhone and the website at soulanchor.app.
In short
- We collect what Soul Anchor needs to work: your sign-in details and what you choose to write and save.
- We don't sell your information, show ads, or track you across other apps or websites.
- When you ask for personalized guidance, the words you enter are sent to Anthropic, our AI provider, to write your response, only after you agree. Your name, email and account ID are not included.
- If what you type suggests you may be in crisis, the words are not stored and not sent to Anthropic.
- You can download your data or delete your account at any time in the app.
What we collect
Your account
- Your email address, used to sign in with a one-time code and to contact you about your account.
- If you sign in with Apple: the email address Apple shares (which may be a private relay address), your name if you choose to share it, and an Apple identifier. We also keep a token Apple gives us so we can revoke Soul Anchor's access with Apple when you delete your account.
- If you sign in with Google: your email address, name and profile picture, and a Google identifier.
- An account ID that Soul Anchor creates for you.
What you write and save
- What you type when you ask for guidance, the topic and ideas Soul Anchor recognises in it, and the response (the passages quoted and the perspective, reflection and next step written for you). These make up your Journey.
- Reflections you write, and passages or responses you save.
- Your choice of sources for guidance (for example the Bible, the Qur'an, several traditions side by side, or no religious tradition). This is a reading preference, not a statement of what you believe, but it may reveal something about your beliefs, so we treat it with the same care.
- Where you are in the libraries and in any guided content (reading position and progress).
- If S.O.U.L. is available to you: your answers to its questions about what you believe and value. These are sensitive information about religious or philosophical beliefs. We ask for your explicit consent before your first answer, and they are never sent to an AI provider.
- Your consent choices: whether and when you agreed to personalized guidance and to S.O.U.L.
Usage records
- The time of each guidance request, so Soul Anchor can apply its daily guidance limit. Requests from accounts used by our own team for testing are marked as such.
- Our hosting providers keep standard technical logs (such as IP address, device and browser type, and the time of a request) to run and secure the service. Our own error logs record error codes, never what you wrote.
Soul Anchor has no advertising, no analytics or tracking SDKs, and does not collect your location, contacts, photos or health records.
AI-written guidance and Anthropic
Personalized guidance is written by an AI model from Anthropic. Before your first request, Soul Anchor asks for your permission. If you agree, each time you ask for guidance the words you enter, and the passages Soul Anchor found for them, are sent securely to Anthropic to write your response. Your account identity (name, email or account ID) is not included.
You can withdraw this permission at any time in Account › Privacy & data › Personalized guidance. The libraries, your Journey and everything else keep working; only new personalized guidance stops.
The passages themselves come from the published editions stored in Soul Anchor and are quoted word for word. The AI does not write or alter them.
Crisis and safety
If what you type suggests you may be thinking about harming yourself, Soul Anchor shows crisis resources straight away, on your device, before anything is sent. In that case:
- the words you typed are not stored and not sent to Anthropic;
- Soul Anchor keeps only a record that the crisis screen was shown and when (with a fixed placeholder in place of your words), so your Journey stays consistent;
- a crisis request never counts toward your daily limit.
Soul Anchor does not contact anyone on your behalf. If you are in danger, call your local emergency number.
How we use information
- To provide Soul Anchor: sign-in, guidance, your Journey, saved items, reading positions and settings.
- To apply the daily guidance limit and protect the service from abuse.
- To send sign-in codes and account notices by email.
- To fix problems, keep Soul Anchor secure, and meet legal obligations.
We don't use your information for advertising, and we don't sell it or share it for cross-context advertising.
Who processes it
We use these service providers, only to run Soul Anchor:
- Supabase: account sign-in, database and server functions (data stored in the United States).
- Anthropic: writes personalized guidance, as described above.
- Resend: delivers sign-in codes and account emails.
- Vercel: hosts the soulanchor.app website.
- Google Fonts: serves a typeface used by the app and website; your device requests it from Google, which receives your IP address.
- Apple and Google: if you choose to sign in with them.
- Apple App Store: distributes the app; Apple's own privacy policy applies to the App Store.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply to it.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and what you write and save until you delete it or delete your account. You can delete individual reflections and saved items in the app. When you delete your account, your account and everything linked to it are removed from our database immediately, and, if you used Sign in with Apple, we revoke Soul Anchor's access with Apple. Copies may remain for a limited time in our providers' routine backups and logs before they are overwritten.
Your choices and rights
- Download your data: Account › Privacy & data › Download my data gives you a copy of what Soul Anchor holds for your account.
- Delete your account: Account › Privacy & data › Delete my account. This is permanent.
- Withdraw consent to personalized guidance or S.O.U.L. at any time in the app.
- Change your sources for guidance at any time.
Depending on where you live, you may have further rights, such as to access, correct, delete or restrict your information, or to object to its use. To use them, or if you can't use the in-app options, email support@quintari.io. We'll respond within the time the law requires.
Security
Information travels between your device and Soul Anchor over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. Access controls in our database let each account read only its own data, and sensitive operations run only on our servers. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
Children
Soul Anchor is not for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email support@quintari.io and we'll delete it.
Where it's processed
Soul Anchor's database is in the United States, and our providers may process information in other countries. By using Soul Anchor you understand your information will be processed in the United States.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page when Soul Anchor's practices change, and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll take reasonable steps to let you know, for example in the app.
